Redfern Station New Southern Concourse – comments close today (2 June)

You’re possibly aware that the NSW Government has committed to upgrading the capacity of Redfern Station by building a new concourse (bridge) over the southern end of the station platforms.

Comments formally close tonight (2 June), and may be sent to projects@transport.nsw.gov.au (sorry for the late notice).

There will also be one more public consultation session:
Counterpoint’s Factory Community Centre,
67 Raglan Street Waterloo,
Thursday 6th June 6:00pm – 8:00pm

The proposal is for the concourse to have one entrance on Little Eveleigh Street and one entrance on Marian Street, between the WaterTower apartments and the current southern entrance to platform 10. The concourse will have connections to platforms 1 through 10, but not platforms 11 and 12 (the Bondi Junction Line).

ARAG will discuss this at a future meeting, possibly July. (The June meeting will discuss the Traffic Management Survey and parking.)

Christmas Meeting, this Wednesday – Community Strategic Plan, Sydney 2050

Our final meeting for this year is this Wednesday, the 12th of December.

The meeting will be at the usual time and place: 7:00pm, Alexandria Town Hall, 73 Garden St.

We’re lucky enough to have council in attendance, talking about the City’s Community Strategic Plan, Sydney 2050, and how we can have input into it.

Unless some urgent issue comes out of the woodwork, this will be our last meeting until February.

Meeting *6pm* this Wednesday: Council’s plan to protect our streets from WestConnex rat runners

Instead of the usual format, this month’s meeting will be devoted to Council’s plan to protect our neighbourhood from future WestConnex traffic.

Please note: the meeting will start at 6pm!

You may remember that Council presented us with several options in April/May, including full and partial road closures, traffic lights, turn restrictions, slow points and continuous footpath treatments.

They have received and analysed more than 700 submissions and produced a plan that tries to balance everything everyone wants.

Come along to find out what is proposed.

Following the presentation, ARAG will discuss the plan.

The meeting will be held at Alexandria Town Hall, as usual. Again, please note, it will start at 6pm.
